Very Rev. Aloysius Chukwudi Duru

Fr. Aloysius Duru is a devoted priest ordained to the Diaconate in 2009 and to the Priesthood in 2010. He currently serves at St. Michael’s Cathedral in Amaimo as the pastor and Cathedral Administrator for the Orthodox Catholic Archdiocese of North America. Before his current assignment, he was a priest and pastor in the Diocese of Kubwa, Nigeria. Over the years, Fr. Duru has combined his pastoral mission with a strong background in education, technical instruction, and logistics.

His professional experience includes roles such as Introductory Technology Teacher at Amaimo High School, Technical Instructor at the Skills Acquisition Center in Orlu, and Cargo Supervisor with British Airways World Cargo. His diverse background reflects a commitment to both spiritual and practical development within his community.

Fr. Duru's academic journey began at Government Technical College, Okporo, and continued through Teachers Grade One College, Nsu, and the Federal Polytechnic Oko, Anambra State. He pursued theological studies through the United State's MTC College of Theology (African Campus), St. Francis of Assisi College of Theology, Wusasa, Zaria—where he earned a Bachelor of Theology—and at Crowther Graduate Theological Seminary, Abeokuta, where he received a Master’s degree in Theology. His qualifications include the West African Senior School Certificate, Teacher Grade One Certificate, National Certificate of Education (NCE Tech), a Bachelor of Theology, and a Master's in Theology.
