Rev. Fr. Gerald Igboanusi, affectionately known by his students as Dr. G, is a licensed mental health professional, and a United States Army Chaplain with over eight years of distinguished military service. He is the founder of ProSightful Counseling and Consulting, where he channels his deep passion for holistic mental wellness into helping individuals and couples navigate crisis, trauma, and relational challenges. Fr. Gerald’s rich vocational background includes years of missionary work and service as a pastor, high school teacher, chaplain, and counselor. As a Special Staff Officer in the U.S. Army, he brings compassionate care and psychological support to service members and their families, grounded in both faith and clinical expertise.

He holds a Master of Divinity from Mount Angel Seminary in Oregon, a Master of Science in Community Mental Health Counseling, and a Doctor of Education from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. In addition to his clinical and military responsibilities, Fr. Gerald is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Creighton University, teaching in the Graduate School's Department of Education, within the School Counseling and Preventive Mental Health Program.

Licensed in the State of Nebraska as a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner, Licensed Mental Health Practitioner, and Professional Counselor, he is also a National Certified Counselor (NBCC). His professional affiliations include the American Counseling Association, the American College Counseling Association, and the Military Officers Association of America.

Fr. Gerald has completed advanced training in trauma and PTSD treatment, suicide intervention, family life counseling, and solution-focused therapy. His approach is centered on ensuring access to affordable, quality mental health care, particularly for underserved communities across the globe
